AS INSTEAD OF “HAPPY HOLIDAYS”. THE IMPORTANCE OF APPRECIATING..
22TH December 2015
Merry Christmas everyone! It has become an habit these days to just say „Happy Holidays“. Really that is not what the Christmas Season is about. It is not about taking some „Holidays“ and a time out from Society in order to spend time with your family.
The Christmas Season is a religious and cultural celebration world wide. Even though christanity is not my belief, my family and I always celebrate it. Since we were born and raised in Germany of course we celebrate. We celebrate the importance of appreciating what we have. That has become our family tradition. It is not religious but I guess every family has their own traditions. However I have realized that more and more people tend to say „Happy Holidays“ instead of „Merry Christmas“. The thought of it bothers me a little. Since I personally think it we have all kinds of holidays throughout the whole year but Christmas is more a meaningful occasion than a „Holiday“.
And when it comes to gifts it is always important to keep in mind that Christmas is not about the gifts. Moreover it is about the people you are gifted with! So I always like to keep that in mind. Talking about gifts and presents in general I think it is so important not to just „buy“ anything. I appreciate personal gifts a lot and put many thoughts into the process of presents I am about to make. Also trust me, the person you are going to „spoil“ will instantly appreciate that too.
So all in one i wish you guys a wonderful Christmas and hope you will be able to share it with your loved ones!
Until then, Xoxo- The Shanels
